The site construction began in 1963, when the CIBA company decided to create a research, development and production centre in the photochemical sector. The site, occupied by the company ILFORD, then a subsidiary of CIBA, evolved over the years and development activities. Of particular note is the arrival in the 1980’s of specific research and development activities including additives, pigments and polymers. Several buildings were then transformed or built to meet this demand. At the end of the 1990s, following the creation of the Novartis Group, some of the research and development sector activities were transferred to Basel. Over the past five years, the aim of the site was to provide a quality environment for development and production activities for both established companies as well as start-ups.
Thanks to the unique infrastructure that is available at the Marly Innovation Center, several tenants working in different sectors (medical analyses, polymers, R&D in nanoparticles, etc.) have moved onto the site.
